If you have a Bristol West customer who is experiencing hardship related to the COVID-19 virus, please have them call us prior to coverage lapsing or expiring at 1-888-888-0080 or they can use the Chat Now feature when logged into BristolWest.com, and we may be able to extend their payment due date. For customers who have allowed coverage to expire, we will consider a reinstatement without a lapse in most situations. The time frame for reinstatement is 10 days after any cancellation. We are also extending the time to reinstate with a lapse to 30 days.
In some states, the Department of Insurance may mandate that insurance carriers extend payment periods or do not cancel policies for a period of time. If your state issues such a mandate, and it allows you greater payment flexibility than what we’ve outlined above, we will honor that directive.
Through these actions we are providing your customers additional time to pay while still maintaining their coverage. Premium for coverage will continue to accumulate. If customers are able to pay their bill on time, or even a portion of the bill, we recommend they do so to prevent a large balance due when normal billing operations resume.
During this time, digital communication is taking precedence. Your customers can obtain policy documents such as ID cards and Declarations Pages, as well as bills and historical documents by logging into BristolWest.com. They may also contact us for live chat support when logged into the site. As always, customers may also reach us by phone at 1-888-888-0080. As an added convenience, customers may download the Bristol West app from the Apple App Store® or Google PlayTM.
We understand your staff may have needs for continuing education (CE) credits, and with in-office practices shifting this may be the right time to fulfill those requirements.
