How to Prioritize Spending in Retirement

It seems that many people don’t give much thought to retirement until they are already well into their formidable years. There is much to be said for planning your retirement far in advance and not waiting until the last-minute. A few chores done ahead of time will setup your later years to be much easier and enjoyable instead of stressing over problems that are piling up.
 
Some of the primary areas of focus when planning your retirement include housing expenses. Retired means you’re not working, not working means you don’t have an income so setting aside a substantial amount to live off of is the foundation of a retirement plan. Other areas include travel, recreation, medical costs, and helping your children as well as investing in yourself.
