Many Americans are unaware of the need for long-term care insurance. Most of us assume that with Medicad, we will be covered should we reach a point in our lives that we need to live in a nursing home or receive continuous in-home care. However, this is not the case. Medicaid only covers some of your care and it may even do that until you have paid out the majority of your money or assets. Long-term care insurance is a good investment for those in their fifties and sixties especially. It gives you assurance should you need the expensive care that sometimes comes with later life. There are many policies out there and you should be sure to carefully research any long-term insurance you purchase and who you purchase it from.
